It’s summertime! Time for vacations in the pool, at the beach, and everywhere in between. As tempting as it is to just let our hair airdry, it can really be detrimental long term. Here’s 3 reasons, with the last one being most important!

Takes Longer to Dry: Especially for thicker hair, it can be time-consuming.
Uneven Drying: Some sections may take longer to dry.
Scalp Issues: Prolonged dampness can lead to scalp and hair problems like dandruff and fungus or mold.

Yes, mold. Whether you have braids, twists, natural hair wash n’gos, weaves, or locs- mold, fungus, scalp conditions like dermatitis and psoriasis THRIVE in wet, warm environments.

How to prevent it?

Use your towel to dry as much of your hair as possible.
Blowdry the hair to AT LEAST 75% dry.
Sit under a hooded dryer.
Keep your scalp dry and dry the sweat/ water onyour scalp as quickly as possible.
Keep your hair tied up/ use swim caps in the water.
